PokeBonk Blastoise is the third and final stage of the Water line. This PokeBonk Blastoise page explains the last Ultimate tier, the stats and the type multipliers the game code applies. It is an unofficial fan guide, since PokeBonk.gg is not the developer, and every number comes from the files of the free browser game PokeBonk. The official game is at pokebonk.com.
PokeBonk Blastoise at a glance
- Pokédex number 9, type Water, stage 3 of 3.
- Base stats: HP 79, Attack 83, Defense 100, Sp. Atk 85, Sp. Def 105, Speed 78 (total 530). Sp. Def is the top stat, with Defense right behind it. Every stat is 20 points above Wartortle, except Sp. Def, which rises by 25.
- Nothing evolves beyond it inside the 151 Kanto Pokémon.
Hydro Cannon, the tier 3 Ultimate
The final tier is Hydro Cannon: a wave and two water cannons that sweep 360 degrees around you. Compared with Shell Whirlpool from Squirtle, which pulled enemies in, PokeBonk Blastoise covers the full circle at range and no longer relies on dragging enemies close. The rain from Tidal Wave is not mentioned in this tier’s text.
PokeBonk Blastoise passive
Torrent Shell carries over: +15 armor, +20 shield and +40% damage below 40% HP. PokeBonk Blastoise combines it with the highest Defense of the line, so it has the highest Defense and Sp. Def of the three final forms in the data, although we have not measured how that translates in a run.
What changes from Wartortle
PokeBonk Blastoise keeps the Water typing, so its table matches Squirtle and Wartortle. What changes is the Ultimate tier and the stat size: HP rises from 59 to 79 and Sp. Def from 80 to 105, the biggest single jump between the two forms. Because the typing is unchanged, nothing in the type chart needs relearning when you reach PokeBonk Blastoise, and Hydro Cannon is the only new tool.
PokeBonk Blastoise matchups
The game code applies x1.35 to super-effective types, x0.8 to resisted ones and x0.5 to classic immunities, and damage you take is limited to between x0.5 and x1.6. As a pure Water type, Blastoise takes x1.35 from Grass and Electric and x0.8 from Steel, Fire, Water and Ice. Nothing reaches the x1.6 cap. Compare this with Charizard, whose Rock weakness reaches it. The type chart has every type.
How to unlock and use PokeBonk Blastoise
Pick Squirtle as your starter, or complete its challenge (2 finished runs) and capture it later, then level it. The derived levels are about 24 and about 44, per the game data and not play-tested. General advice, not a measured build: with the 360 degree sweep, stay near the middle of a horde, and keep Electric-using and Grass enemies in mind. See the Pokédex and the builds guide.
