From the game's data files, version 0.8.13. Not play-tested.
PokeBonk Charmeleon is the middle stage of the Fire line, reached when Charmander evolves. This PokeBonk Charmeleon page covers what changes at stage 2: the second Ultimate, the stat jump and the long wait until Charizard. Everything is taken from the game’s files as of version 0.8.13, and PokeBonk.gg is an unofficial fan site, so the official game at pokebonk.com always has priority.
PokeBonk Charmeleon at a glance
- Pokédex number 5, type Fire, stage 2 of 3.
- Base stats: HP 58, Attack 64, Defense 58, Sp. Atk 80, Sp. Def 65, Speed 80 (total 405). Against Charmander, Speed rises by 15 and Sp. Atk by 20, the largest gain of any stat.
- The family kit is Ember, Fire Spin, Flamethrower and Fire Blast.
Blast Burn, the tier 2 Ultimate
The Ultimate name follows the form you are in, so PokeBonk Charmeleon casts Blast Burn instead of Rising Blaze. The game describes three rings of fire and six magma fissures that spit flames. The first tier had one ring; here the fire spreads outward in layers and the ground cracks open. The text mentions fissures as well as rings, so the effect covers more ground than tier 1.
PokeBonk Charmeleon passive
Sea of Flames is the same family passive: below 40% HP you deal +40% damage, and Fire damage gets +10%. With higher Sp. Atk, PokeBonk Charmeleon turns that Fire bonus into more damage than Charmander did, though we have not measured the in-run result. The passive still gives no defense.
PokeBonk Charmeleon matchups
A pure Fire type does not change between stages, and the game code gives these multipliers: x1.35 from Ground, Rock and Water, x0.8 from Bug, Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice and Fairy, and x1.0 from the rest. The in-game help says super-effective hits do x2, but the code uses x1.35, so a Water enemy hurts less than a classic game would suggest. The type chart lists all 18 attacking types.
When PokeBonk Charmeleon evolves
The step to Charizard is derived at about level 44. That is the joint highest of the three starter lines, level with Wartortle. It is derived from the game data and not play-tested, and the game plans each evolution at least 3 levels after the previous one in its code. For a long stretch of the run, PokeBonk Charmeleon is therefore your final form.
How to use PokeBonk Charmeleon in a run
General advice, not a tested build: because the final evolution is far away, invest in area and damage upgrades that work now, and keep the low-health bonus as a side effect rather than a plan. Blast Burn leaves fire on the ground, so position yourself where enemies must cross it. See the Pokédex for other lines and the builds guide for the card rules.
Frequently asked questions
What does Blast Burn do in PokeBonk?
Blast Burn is the tier 2 Ultimate of the Charmander line. The game describes three rings of fire and six magma fissures that spit flames.
Does Charmeleon have the same types as Charmander?
Yes. Charmeleon is still a pure Fire type, so it takes x1.35 from Ground, Rock and Water, and x0.8 from Bug, Steel, Fire, Grass, Ice and Fairy.
When does Charmeleon become Charizard in PokeBonk?
The code derives about level 44, which makes the second step later than the first. We have not play-tested it, so the in-game Pokédex entry is the reference.
Did Charmeleon get new moves in PokeBonk?
We cannot say. The data lists the same four-move Fire kit for the whole family, and we have not checked how moves unlock during a run.
