How to play the Magikarp line
Magikarp’s line is the Promise, and it has its own evolution rule: it reaches Gyarados at Lv. 40, set by the game rather than the usual formula. Its passive, Perseverance, gives +60% experience so you get there sooner than the level suggests. The kit is Tackle, Flail and Hyper Beam (Normal) with Waterfall (Water). As Magikarp, Epic Splash jumps three times with a wave on each landing and ends with Magikarp raining from the sky. As Gyarados it becomes Gyarados’s Fury: a roar that charms, two waterspouts and a Hyper Beam across the front; with Maturity, rain and a final wave. To join it, complete 25 runs, win or lose. It suits players willing to survive a weak start.
